Live blogging at Teacher Iman Azman’s class with the Thai kids. I’m thinking I’m the only one who can actually meticulously describe how her class really is from an unbiased point of view.
Well, first of all, I got all lost when heading towards Iman’s class. I thought it was the previous thai class which is at the ex-muttaqin centre. So Iman called me. I went to the new class and just walked past because I didn’t want to enter the class while she was teaching. BUT she came right out and, “Als! Did you just walk past??” and shoved me into the room. Iman, you forget that I am sometimes really shy around new people. I’ve grown less shy now after you’ve taught me everything I know. But I still am a bit. Even more so when Iman said, “You have a loyal fan in this class.” I do not know how she came to know me because apparently I don’t really know about any of the kids. Will ask iman later.
I am getting peeks from the girls eventhough I’m sitting at the back. Iman says, “I know Alia is very pretty. Look at the board and at me!”
Today she is teaching them how to write letters. About teachers and to their friends. Very iman-like to incorporate feelings of care. One of the girls just piped: "But Teacher, you are my best friend!" I tell you, she’s gonna grow up into Iman Jr. No doubt they all want to get into her good shoes. Who wants to feel the wrath of Iman Azman anyways?
Iman is very strict. Lol. She prefers absolute silence and will shush them the moment they so much as squeak. Though she’s very lucky I suppose that there are only 11 kids here. Kind of reminds me my class when I was in primary school.
Iman’s teaching style is very unique. She articulates the words one by one like they are hard of hearing. But that’s understandable. It’s like me trying to learn Arabic and Ust Shamsul talking 100% Arabic. Scary. And sometimes you don’t even know what to do even if it’s such a simple task.
But overall, if I were a student, I would not mind Iman Azman at all. I would absolutely adore her. And I know I will be her favourite student. Call it a hunch;)
