addicted

as our first assignment, we have to learn to use adobe photoshop for IT class. I have zero experience with Photoshop. but it is growing to be fun:)

Last night we had to finish off some exercises, at 1130pm kaktqa came down and got influenced by me to start photoshop-ing. i went to sleep at around midnight. woke up. the time read 3:45am. but i was very very confused because my roommate was not asleep in the room. either i only dozed off for a while or i woke up late. went downstairs and saw alina and kaktqa:

Alia: (groggy) ... Isn't it 3:45 in the morning? Haven't you slept??
Kaktqa: (laughing) dah addicted XD
Alia: Go and sleep!
Kaktqa: Skejap lagi skejap lagi>_<
but yes, photoshop is addictive:)

still

to the numerous individuals who have debated with me about sketching faces; don't worry, i will for sure delve deep into the heart of this matter, and probably blog a post on it after i consult with certain reputable learned people. Drawing, after all being my passion... how can i ignore the rules that come with it...

And no, i do not hate people who advise me about their views even though i may not necessarily agree with them.

For now, have resorted to improving on my still life drawings... and colours since Alina's pencil colours have been waiting on the table for me to use them:)

kyuusai

I like redrawing my old drawings. Even better when it's been 5 years since then.
Thank you nurul for digging through your stuff to search it for me.

I sit infront of my laptop facing the playground which is now being showered heavily by bullets of water. I love the smell of rain. I love rain itself- you would appreciate it too if you have been living in a desert with rain only blessing your life once a year.

The slides are collecting water. It is raining more heavily. There are countless puddles formed now, beneath the swings, beside the seesaw, drowning the grass...

The thunder is really loud. For some reason it brings me to Physics chapter about speed. The five-second rule of thumb. If you hear thunder 5 seconds after seeing the lighting, it means that it is only a mile away.

I am worried. The Cover Girl Night next week apparently clashes with my exams. Wednesday, Maths exam. Thursday, CoverGirl Night. Friday, English exam. How will i be able to commute from Cyberjaya to KL almost everyday? and late in the evening even...

There is a lady now walking with an umbrella, hugging close to her belongings.

I am thinking of finding a replacement for my role as the main lead for my play. But it's not fair because it is only a few days away. Iman says I cannot pull it off. Yasmin says I am irreplacable because she cannot imagine anyone else who can express the words with as much conviction and belief (thank you, my dear); and as sweet as that sounds, it worries me even more. The only time I can practice with them is on Wednesday. And then comes the Grand Finale.

T. Aizan says it is doable because she knows my girls are talented. I have no grouses against that; it's just that I need to practice together with them. I hate letting people down. I hate not being able to give full commitments when it is my responsibility. I know I can pull it off, but it's not the same if you can't be there...

It is getting darker outside. The rain is slowing down to a drizzle... And here I take my leave.

RS

oh, i want nothing more than a book by robert sabuda.

26th November is coming up:)

exploit

you know you have exploited all kinds of promotion when someone who you do not know sees you from across the carpark and calls out in 'recognition': "Eh! Toastmasters!" of which someone had to remind him that "Her name is Alia, not Toastmasters".

promotions

So my main concern was actually the turn out of people at the Toastmasters meeting. Which turned out to be around 40+. This might look like a measly number but it is more than my expected 5 people. My dad told me it's OKAY if only 10 people come; the show must still go on. Yes, I told myself to keep my expectations super low so that I would not disappoint myself in any way. So ultimately, we only had 1 week to do the promotions and when faizal said to do intensive promotion, I exploited all kinds of promotions in this college that i can think of.

  1. print and put up posters at bulletin boards
  2. write letters to every club and society - this of which at first i thought it had to be in memo form and then faizal said it had to be in letter form with all the formalities. it was already 6pm so i redid it. shafiq came all the way to college just to read through if it's okay and gave me the student council letterheads. i had to print it at the library of where the printer got jammed and much paper was wasted since it was not properly printed according to the letterhead. Finally after 7pm managed to get it done and faizal who had to wait finally got to sign it and distribute to the other clubs and societies.
  3. send emails to every class of every batch - from the first to the final batch. of which none came:(
  4. post up the invite on the college website - of which we had to write a letter asking for permission, and eventhough we did, for some reason, it turned out that it was never put up. Do not know why~
  5. designed, printed and personally delivered and explained to the deans and professors and lecturers - which i was soo scared about doing it myself and having to meet them and explaining what toastmasters really is about and that it is not some kind of cooking club
  6. Announced at assembly - this, i had to do a whole performance acting out the difference between an inaudible speaker and a honed speaker of which they all started whooting and clapping so many times throughout my two-minute persuasive speech. It was funny. But I think this was the best because it convinced the new intake~ and they were the ones who made up most of the audience anyways. And they were glad they came:)
I am not posting this up just to show off whatsoever. But to show that there are many different ways we can achieve what we want.

God puts a brick wall infront of you not to stop you from achieveing your dreams. But to know how badly you want to accomplish it.
