pray i survive

Oh how blessed a feeling it is to know that someone opens my blogsite everyday. I am beyond honoured:) thank you sayang^^ My apologies to all those people who keep telling me to update. I am only able to update during weekends. I prefer that my weekdays are for my studies and assignments. There are countless.

Yesteryday I felt like vomiting. Today, not so, but perhaps next friday I may again. Right now we're learning the digestive system and our lab experiment next week is to look at the digestive system. Of rats. Yes, we shall be dissecting rodents. We were reviewing ways on using the scalpel and blades and what to do during the dissection and I couldn't stand looking at the pictures (my mom will retort: macam mane nak jadi doktor ni? lol). Mr Eric says whatever happens, do not scream or run around in the lab. Kak tqa says once, during a rat dissection when they were about to do the incision, her friend's lab rat woke up and sat up and started to sniff around. That would be my ultimate nightmare. Please please Allah let me survive through this experiment.

On a lighter note, I attended Toastmaters today. My dad set the theme as "Art of Culinary" instead of the mundane normal meetings. He even dressed for the occasion and as always, many things I have learned during these get-togethers. I especially like this Chinese saying which goes "Your tongue can paint what your eyes cannot see."

Tomorrow will be attending "Save the Palestine" event by C.O.M.P.L.E.T.E. Need to finish off all my assignments by today. Over and out;)

jen ten

To my dearest adik fuds. Happy 17th:) I will sing to (and with) you once we meet up again;) And we shall masak daging masak kicap and laugh out and sing some more. Yes, we shall.

To my darling Imans, Happy 19th. Throughout all the years of kerepek-eatings for midnight snacks and making rainbow portraits and putting together plans and painting banners and ranting about how some people can have gorgeousilitis, i love you more and more.

If I had to draw a graph of my love for you both vs time, the exponential graph would go on til infinity. *hearts*

Of Blizzards and Lizards

Minggu ini, Cyberjaya has been looking like this when you're waiting for the bus after a long day of college:
It's been raining kucing-kucing dan anjing-anjing and within seconds, it can get from a light drizzle to a raging blizzard. There would be pools of water soaking up your kain and getting into your shoes and making squealching noises by the time you reach your apartment and your socks stink and you're freezing down to your cartilages and osteocytes and stratified squamous (keratinized) epithelium ie skin. It got so bad satu hari that we decided to menempat di surau dan selepas itu menuju ke kolej untuk menghabiskan kerja Histologi. Only an hour later were we able to go back.

While I was packing my things this morning, I found out of all of the most bizarre discoveries, in my drawer, a skeleton of a lizard. Like seriously a skeleton, you can SEE the bones and it's like a fossil. With all red ants around it. Dead. I have no idea HOW it got there and HOW it... suffocated to death... It really takes on the literal "skeletons in my cupboard" phrase to the extreme. Alina helped me (well, she did all the work) and lifted it out with old newspapers.

Reactions from my housemates:
Alina: *laughs*
Najah: Look on the bright side, at least it doesn't smell (after I said there weren't any pungent odour)
Kaktqa *on the phone*: *laughs* Did you scream? *I said yes* Alaaa tak cool la. *laughs some more*

And I self-diagnose that I am having OSO disorder.

funny things:)

Jealousy is a funny thing is it not?

Sometimes you energetically and zealously push everything away and once it's gone, you plead and beg for it back on your knees.
It's funny how you feel so strongly envious when you can't make that certain person smile and laugh like how others can. And sometimes you turn extra sensitive when all they give is a reasonable and small rejection. And molehills turn into mountains and puddles becomes oceans... And when you step back and think about it, your start laughing and thinking; what was the big deal anyways?

But it hurts:) another funny thing. Allowing yourself to be tortured and succumbing to such an emotion. No one else to blame but yourself^^

It is not a feeling I want to experience at the moment. Funny how these things happen to loved ones. I am impossible.

Someone cure me of my selfishness please:)

Twice the number

Throughout my life, I have received wide-eyed responses and gigantic gasps whenever I mention this one fact: I have 5 brothers. The usual responses ranges from "How do you cope?!" or "What does that feel like?" to "You must be suffering!" and things to that effect.

So I'd like to say Au contraire! to all you fellas out there who thinks it's such a terrible horror to live with. And here I'd like to present 10 reasons why it's super awesome to have 5 brothers like mine!:
1. They always do crazy things. Like splash water on you. Or suddenly shout in the middle of the road. Or scream the songs in the car at the top of their voices. And even if you're feeling like you're down in the deepest dumps, you can't help but smile.

2. When you're in a super bad mood, they would either stay away or make you feel better: whichever you want. Usually make me feel better by abiding to my every command. And they don't really take to heart when you shout at them. They will always totally understand. And they never shout back. I don't think I can stand it if I have a sister like me. Seriously.

3. Brothers like mine are tech savvy. When your computers goes kaput, it takes them just a few seconds to fix the problem. Or if you need to have enhance a digital photo or do technical things, they're always ready to help:) Unless they're playing starcraft/warcraft and etc.

4. When you need them to accompany you, they always will:) Like going outside because you need to walk somewhere. Or driving you to a place because women-drivers-who-drive-alone-are-easy-targets. I mean, they're guys. So, it's easier. I always have 5 bodyguards at hand!:) Or at least 3. Two more on the way:)

5. They stick straight to the point. If that dress doesn't match with that tudung, they say so. Things like that.
6. They are super smart. They read things like Outliers or Blink or Tipping Point and motivational books and all that. Or, they explore around the net and show you super cool things like a super slow motion clip of a guy being slapped and how his face would elastically be squashed by the impact.

7. They don't read mushy novels or watch romance tv shows. They are strictly either cartoons or action pack or national geographic.

8. They eat a lot:D So you don't mind either when you eat a lot too. They aren't ENTIRELY self conscious of their weight and appearance like how a girl can be.

9. They're loud and noisy. So you'll never feel lonely. And when you DO come home after a looong tiring exasperating 5 days of nonstop studying, they run to you at the door and welcome you like you've been away for 5 years.
10. THey can't wear your clothes. But you can wear theirs so you have like... 5 times the number of clothes:p

So there you go:) I would never ever trade any of my brothers for anything in the world. I can for sure add more we'll leave that for next time yeah;)

hundredth!

Post ke-100! Apakah keistimewaan yang perlu di..---

Okay, enough Malay for one post. Honestly, I got stuck:P (Please do not scream at me>_<)

100th Post! And what specialness shall shower this one post? I was planning to write the hundredth post YESTERDAY on first of January 2009 BUT it seemed to have unconsciously slipped my mind THUS today would have to make do.

Resolutions should not only stick to being an annual feat but rather assessed continuously. I know, i know. But, perhaps it's satisfying to know that at least you are putting in an effort to improve yourself.. in a way. So, official resolutions:

1. Improving in my public speaking. Yes, I would dealthy cringe at this very own suicidal resolution. BUT I have a strong reason for it now. I am planning to abolish 36-hour medical on-calls in Malaysian hospital by the time I reach housemanship (InsyaAllah in about 4-5 years). Sounds impossible? Perhaps. But I really do want that to be done at least for other doctors if I may not be able to be on time for my housemanship. 36 hours nonstop is like killing yourself. There are too many setbacks for this 36-hour issue which I shall perhaps post in another post. But it includes doctors making huge mistakes because they're so sleepy. Or deciding irrationally because of their lack of fresh minds. In UK, the maximum hours is 12. Since it is the minimum chance I would be able to do my housemanship there, I might as well change things here. How does public speaking relate to abolishing? Public speaking includes persuading, convincing, informing and many more.

2. Speak more Malay. Or lessen my language loathing. How ironic since I stopped mid sentence up there. Written Malay and spoken malay is different ok! So spoken Malay it is:) And how is this done? Perhaps speak in Malay to those who speak in malay with me. Since I tend to reply in English regardless what lingo people converse with me. Whether they understand or not, usually I don't really mind. As long as I spoke English. And as long as it did not sound funny. But yes2, Malay it is now.

3. Increase EI. ie emotional intelligence. Develop soft skills. This and the like.

Ah well. Three worthy resolutions to be written. The rest are rather personally tucked away and shall be revealed perhaps... periodically..

100th post may be rewritten:)
